So, 2025… That was intense. My look back at AI, leadership, and what’s next.
I honestly can’t believe we are wrapping up 2025. It feels like I blinked in January and opened my eyes just in time for New Year’s Eve. This year has been a massive ride, both in the tech world and for me personally.
The Year AI Got Real Remember a couple of years ago when AI was mostly about generating funny images or basic text? 2025 was the year it stopped being a novelty act and became a serious tool. We moved past the hype and actually started integrating these autonomous agents into our daily workflows. It’s been wild watching systems handle complex tasks with barely any hand-holding. It’s exciting, a little bit scary, and it has completely changed how I approach building software.
Surviving the “Tech Lead Manager” Jump On a personal note, this was the year I stepped up into the Tech Lead Manager role. I’m not going to sugarcoat it—it was tough. Going from spending 90% of my day deep in code to suddenly balancing architecture decisions with managing actual human beings was a huge shock to the system. There were definitely moments of imposter syndrome. But honestly? Watching my team grow and crush their goals has been more rewarding than shipping any feature myself.
Something Brewing All this chaos—the new AI capabilities and my crash course in leadership—has sparked something else. I’ve been quietly working nights and weekends on a personal software project with a small team. We’re tackling a problem that used to drive me absolutely nuts in my previous roles, using this new wave of agentic AI. I can’t share the details just yet, but I’m ridiculously proud of what we’re building. It’s going to be special.
A huge thank you to everyone who put up with me this year—my amazing team, my mentors, and my friends.
Happy New Year, everyone. See you in 2026!
